The Goal
The Avodah Institute offers educational
events for leaders to help them integrate the claims of their
faith with the demands of their work. Some programs are open
to the public and others are invitation-only events. Some
are programs that we have designed and implemented ourselves;
others are external events that in some fashion we have supported
as they meet the Institute's professional standards and objectives.
Our Approach
Our educational method avoids prescriptive
and simplistic "seven easy steps to success" types
of approaches. We believe that all participants must individually
discover and appropriate what works for them in their own
personal and corporate context. The Avodah Institute seeks
to provide ethical guidance and spiritual nurture to help
people discover, design, and embrace their own formula and
framework for integration. The results of this process are
enhanced ethical frameworks and spiritual disciplines that
strengthen a leader's corporate performance and personal walk
of faith.
To do this, we bring together leading thinkers and proven practitioners
from a variety of disciplines, including business, the professions,
academia, and theology. While all faith traditions are welcome,
The Avodah Institute approaches these discussions from the
perspective of the Christian tradition.
The Avodah Institute also initiates and supports external
educational programs that conduct research, publish articles,
develop curricula, lead seminars, and sponsor mentoring networks
that support its mission statement.
